Lymphedema is the swelling caused by a buildup of lymph fluid. This can develop as a result of surgery, radiation, infection, traumatic injury or congenital malformation in which the lymphatic system is interrupted.
Components of treatment include:

Symptoms:
- Swelling of the arms, legs, or trunk
- A feeling of heaviness or discomfort
- Repeated infections
- Fluid leaking from the skin
- Pain or discomfort
